Current Obsession: Evelyn Henson

It's no secret that I love to decorate.  I love finding accessories that stand out in a room, planning out furniture layouts, and most of all, decorating my walls.  This past year I created a gallery wall in my apartment at school, and it was by far my favorite part of my bedroom.  I put it on one of the walls over my desk, and it was the first thing people would see when they came in the room.  The pieces included street art that I had collected during my summer abroad as well as some creative ones from the cities I lived in last summer by an artist named Evelyn Henson.

Rome // Paris // Madrid
Evelyn Henson is an artist and small business owner whose pieces inspire individuals to live a brightly decorated life, as reflected in their colors and concept.  Her pieces include art prints, journals, phone cases, mugs and greeting cards that all center on beauty in the everyday and the world around us.  Items come out seasonally, as do her free downloadable wallpapers for technology and social media.  My personal favorites are the wallpapers with pieces of pizza and colorful ice cream cones & trucks.  Recently I received the ice cream print for my birthday from a former roommate, and I will soon be purchasing the matching print to it for my apartment!  The teal frames that I put the pieces in came from Joann's Fabrics and really bring out the color more so than a basic frame.  Here are some of my other favorites:

If you're at all interested in her artwork or accessories, I highly recommend checking out her website here, her blog, or social media accounts.  Frequently she relies on the input from her page visitors for future pieces of artwork, not to mention you get plenty of sneak peeks at what's coming.  As a relatively new twenty-something, I am quite grateful to have found a similarly aged artist who knows what appeals to someone like me.  With designs and ideas for the young woman and/or a first apartment, Evelyn Henson is a hit and someone I am sure we will see even more from in the future.
