DMV References

In keeping with the lifestyle & culture theme of this blog, I will be keeping track of all of the places that I recommend in my posts.  To find out more, just click on the name of the place of which you are interested for a link to the respective location's page.  All comments and opinions are my own, and I would not recommend any place that I myself would not visit.

DMV RESTAURANTS

Opinion: Located in the heart of George Washington University's Foggy Bottom Campus, Tonic opened in 1891 as a drugstore and pharmacy that was converted to a full-service restaurant over time.  Items on the menu are reminiscent of traditional homestyle cooking: homemade macaroni and cheese, seasoned burgers and sandwiches, specialty pizzas and signature tater tots.  Its location in a historic building on the university's campus serves as a place for students, faculty and visitors to enjoy the fare as they once did over a hundred years ago.  Come mid-day for the perfect crowd, restaurant vibe and interactive wait service.

Opinion: The local shop of a nationally recognized cupcake shop, Sprinkles is located in the heart of Georgetown.  The hard-to-miss pink shop sits among the hustle and bustle of storefront windows and shops on M Street, and is nothing short of delicious.  Known as the world's first cupcake bakery, Sprinkles opened in Beverly Hills, catering to celebrities and others among the like.  Sprinkles utilizes only the finest ingredients to create the perfect cupcake: sweet cream butter, bittersweet Belgian chocolate and pure Madagascar vanilla.  The steep price may draw visitors away, but snack on one (or two) of their dozens of signature flavors and you'll be reminded why you fell in love with cupcakes in the first place.
