Shiny Piece of Paper

Tuesday, May 24, 2016

Well, if it wasn't official before, it is now.  My college diploma arrived yesterday in all its glory, thus signifying the end of 4 amazing years.

It's crazy to me how time plays nasty little tricks on us.  4 years-4 years of grueling hard work, countless memories, experiences both good and bad-all leave you with this.  A thick piece of paper signed by the dean and the president in a leather case (received at graduation).  At the time, 4 years did not seem like they went by that fast.  That is, of course, because of how they happened.  Over the course of four years.  Four years really gives you the chance to grow and learn (shocker!) and find yourself within the realm of the microcosm of the universe in which you chose to surround yourself.  I feel like we tell ourselves that the time went by fast because maybe indeed it did feel like it went by fast when looking back.  I may still be in denial that college is over and that I won't be returning to Coral Gables in the fall or seeing my friends for some time, all we can do now is look forward and carry on.  So cheers to the last 4 amazing years and nothing but celebration as we move on to the future.  Alma mater stand forever on Biscayne's wondrous shore.
