I started running half marathons the fall of my junior year of college and fell in love with them. So much so that I actually used them as the basis for my personal statement when applying to graduate school. Despite how much I actually dread waking up early (& on the flip side, having to go to bed even earlier), I find that I am always happiest when I am in training mode for a road race (or in this case, three!). Soooo are you up for the challenge? Have you done anything that makes people think you are half/fully crazy? Comment below & wish me luck!
Full Crazy, Half Marathon

Nothing quite beats it. Waking up at the crack of dawn just to catch the sunrise. Music pumping through my ears. Heart beating faster than it usually does. Legs sore as I push them further. The sense of accomplishment when it's all done. Yes, these all go together. And yes, I am talking about running. "Running?" you ask yourself; yes, running. I have a wonderful love-hate relationship with running.
The addiction It all began when track finished the spring of my eighth grade year. I had attempted to enjoy it, particularly because I went out for it by choice, not force, and decided to go out for cross country because I could. It was the only no-cut sport open for fall, and doing a sport meant not having to take P.E., so I found myself running the distance races instead of short sprints. Here I am, about a million 5k's and 3 half marathons later, still running for choice. And more so for choice, I recently signed myself up for an interesting challenge here in Jacksonville better known as the Tour de Pain. 3 races in 24 hours: 4 miles Friday, 5k Saturday morning & 1-mile sprint Saturday night. While some call me "half crazy" when I run half marathons, I think that my title has officially switched to "full crazy" considering this is one of the craziest things that I have ever done. What is even crazier though...the fact that I am actually excited about this...
